Extended Care Teacher

About the Role
At Early Alpine Academy, afternoons are all about connection and winding down the day with joy. Our Extended Care team makes sure children feel safe, cared for, and engaged at the end of their school day. As our newest Extended Care Teacher, you’ll join a group of friendly, dependable teammates who share the responsibility of creating fun activities, supervising children, and closing down classrooms together.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, likes being creative, and values a consistent, part-time afternoon schedule.

What You’ll Do

• Work alongside our Extended Care team to welcome children and provide active supervision

• Lead or support fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, movement, and social play

• Ensure every child feels included, safe, and cared for during their time with you

• Support daily routines and smooth transitions with patience and positivity

• Help close and reset classrooms with your team by:

  • Tidying and organizing spaces

  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors

  • Cleaning and sanitizing toys and materials

  • Wiping surfaces, taking out trash, and finishing dishes

• Follow all safety and licensing standards

• Communicate kindly and professionally with families, coworkers, and supervisors

• Previous experience working with children ages 0–5 

• Ability to manage multiple age groups with attentiveness and care

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to maintain professionalism in all interactions

• Willing and able to complete annual professional development through the Montana Early Childhood Provider Registry

• Must be current on vaccinations 

• Must be current with CPR and first aid for both infants and adults or be willing to complete every two years

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in active play and movement
